Program & Event Associate - BOOST Cafe (2024)

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the CEO and other company leadership members, the Program & Event Associate will play a key role in content creation, event coordination and support, and communications and provide support for company events and projects. This position requires flexibility, problem-solving, extraordinary attention to detail, outstanding writing and verbal communication skills, superior levels of customer service, and high-quality work.

Essential Functions

The Program & Event Associate job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

BOOST Conference, Legacy Summit & Company Events Implementation

· Coordinate schedule of ICW meetings and provide on-site support (on-going)

· Coordinate collection of Leadership Team Basket donations (on-going)

· Coordinate merchant outreach and raffledonation collections (on-going)

· Coordinate Meet the Authors event (on-going)

· Support Get on the Bus event (on-going)

· Coordinate Podcast Lounge event (on-going)

· Coordinate Innovation Alley (on-going)

· Support BOOST Conference Special Events sub-committee(s) (on-going)

· Support coordination of Legacy Summit logistics (on-going)

· Support BOOST Leadership Team logistics (on-going)

Communications, Outreach, and Social Media

· Facilitate event calendar outreach to our stakeholders

· Facilitate partnership outreach to our stakeholders

· Compile & design Student Quotes and other job-related projects in Canva

· Provide on-going communication with key stakeholders and VIP clientele

· Maintain active list of global award opportunities

· Data entry for all departments, projects in database, and email listserves

· Collaborate with Communications Coordinator to ensure implementation of social media related to job duties

Leadership

· Develop relationship with key stakeholders within the in and out-of-school time field to enhance business opportunities and growth of company

· Provide exceptional customer service to all clients and stakeholders

· Be an eager and active participant in company culture and role model amongst team members

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

· 2+ years in similar work capacity.

· Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and thrives on managing multiple tasks.

· High proficiency in technology including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Google platform; Canva; ability to learn new software/platforms.

· Excellent writing, editing, verbal, phone communication skills.

· Experience in high-level client relations and customer service (radical hospitality).

· Self-starter with a positive “can do” attitude, extraordinary communication and customer service skills; project management skills.

· Ability to work independently and contribute to the overall success of the team while continuing to grow and gain expertise from senior staff.

· Experience and passion for inspiring and creating change and social justice in educational and social service agencies serving youth.

· Commit to personal and professional growth and development.

· Ability to interact with and build relationships with fellow team members, a diverse global clientele, and the public.

· Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Other Requirements

· Must be able to attend and work at the annual BOOST Conference and other company events.

· Ability to attend and participate in “live/in-person” company events is required and may include working nights, weekends, and travel during certain times of the year.

· Valid California Driver’s License, access to the use of a reliable automobile on a daily basis, and valid automobile insurance.

· Be a U.S. Citizen, non-citizen national, or foreign national possessing a visa permitting permanent residence in the U.S. (Alien Registration or “Green Card”). Student visas and temporary work visas do not qualify.

Physical Requirements

· Frequent repetitive hand use and simple grasping, e.g., desk and computer functions

· Ability to sit for prolonged periods

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

· Ability to ascend/descend stairs

Safety and In-person Work

· Strictly comply with all applicable public health orders and organizational safety protocols.

· Willing to obtain COVID-19 vaccine.

· Remain flexible in order to adjust to changing safety protocols and health orders as needed.

Salary

$26/hour to start, hourly position, non-exempt

Year One- 8 hours PTO accrual per month
16 paid holidays
